Siria si Gaza vor fi nimicite/ Syria and Gaza Strip will be destroyed

- Tefania 2:4-7

[EN] The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. - Isaiah 17:1 KJV

The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts. - Isaiah 17:3 KJV

Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the Lord God of Israel. - Isaiah 17:6 KJV

In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation. - Isaiah 17:9 KJV

Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!  The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.  And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us. - Isaiah 17:12‭-‬14 KJV

I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border. - Zephaniah 2:8 KJV

Thus saith the Lord God ; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;  Therefore thus saith the Lord God ; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. - Ezekiel 25:15‭-‬16 KJV

For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.  Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the Lord is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.  And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.  And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
Zephaniah 2:4‭-‬7 KJV

British parliament votes in favor of recognizing Palestine

After a four-hour debate during which over 50 MPs spoke, the British Parliament overwhelmingly voted in favor of the government recognizing Palestine as a state on Monday night.

The ayes had it when 274 MPs voted to adopt the non-binding motion and only 12 voted against it.

The original motion stipulated that "this House believes that the government should recognize the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel."

During the debate it was amended to include the words "as a contribution to securing a negotiated two-state solution."

Prime Minister David Cameron and his government ministers abstained from the vote, which was called by an opposition lawmaker, and Cameron's spokesman earlier said foreign policy would not be affected whatever the outcome.

The debate that preceded the vote took place in a House of Commons that was more than half-empty. Only 286 of 650 lawmakers voted, with many outside the government choosing to abstain.

Britain does not designate Palestine as a state, but says it could do so at any time if it believed it would help the long-running peace process between the Palestinians and Israel.

Lawmakers who backed the motion said it would increase pressure on Israeli and Palestinian authorities to revive the stalled peace process.

"Its purpose is very simple, based upon the belief that the recognition of a state of Palestine, alongside a state of Israel will add to the pressure for a negotiated two-state solution and may bring that prospect a little closer to fruition," said Jack Straw, who served as foreign minister between 2001 and 2006.

Labour Party legislator Grahame Morris said recognizing a Palestinian state could help break the impasse in peace negotiations before it was too late.

Conservative lawmaker Nicholas Soames - grandson of World War II Prime Minister Winston Churchill - said that "to recognize Palestine is both morally right and is in our national interest."

The British government said progress towards a two-state solution was urgent, and recognition of Palestine as a state should be carefully timed to help that outcome.

"The UK will bilaterally recognise a Palestinian state when we judge that it can best help bring about the peace," said Tobias Ellwood, the government minister with responsibility for the Middle East.

"You can, after all ... only play this card once," he said. "Once it's done, you cannot repeat it, so the timing of this is critical."

The motion in Britain's lower house of parliament, put forward by a lawmaker from the opposition Labour party, asked parliamentarians whether they believe the government should recognize the state of Palestine.

It has the backing of the left-leaning Labour party's leadership which has told its lawmakers to vote in favor of the motion, an edict which has caused anger with some pro-Israel members of parliament set to rebel or stay away altogether.

According to the British media, some of the party's shadow ministers are outraged at being told by leader Ed Miliband how to vote on the issue, as they support recognition through as part of a peace agreement. They are reportedly considering a boycott on Monday should their lobbying to allow a free vote prove to be unsuccessful.

British newspaper the Independent quoted a senior pro-Israel MP as saying that, "To say that there is a row going on it putting it very mildly. People are furious. This is an attempt to rip up 13 years of carefully calibrated policy. It total madness and makes the prospect of peace less rather than more likely.”

Other parties allowed their lawmakers to vote according to their own consciences.

The vote is unlikely to shift official policy, as it is non-binding and would not force the British government to changes its diplomatic stance. It was designed instead to raise the political profile of the issue.

The debate comes as Sweden's new center-left government is set to officially recognize Palestine, a move that has been criticized by Israel.

The UN General Assembly approved the de facto recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine in 2012 but the European Union and most EU countries, including Britain, have yet to give official recognition.

The Palestinians want an independent state in the West Bank and Gaza, with its capital in East Jerusalem.

While Gaza's boundaries are clearly defined, the precise territory of what would constitute Palestine in the West Bank and East Jerusalem will only be determined via negotiations with Israel on a two-state solution, negotiations which are currently on hold.

Tara filistenilor cuprindea: Asdod, Askelon, Gaza, Ekron  si Gat.

Israelitii condusi de Iosua au anihilat dominatia oraselor-state canaanite ( in sec.

Israel - limited apology for "operational errors" !?

The Dangers of an Israeli Apology to Turkey

Recently, there have been renewed rumors of a possible deal to help heal the rift that developed between Israel and Turkey following the deaths of eight Turkish citizens on the ship Mavi Marmara as it sailed toward Gaza in May 2010. The broad outlines of the deal suggest that Israel would offer a limited apology for "operational errors," and would pay compensation to the families of those who died. In return, Turkey would recognize the legality of Israel's naval blockade of Gaza, and would agree not to seek legal action against Israeli soldiers who were involved.
A quick review for those who may not recall what happened: The Mavi Marmara set sail from Turkey as part of a flotilla whose primary aim was to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza. Israel had imposed the blockade to prevent the importation of weapons and dual-use material that ultimately could be used by the Hamas government against Israeli civilians. The Israeli Navy interdicted the flotilla and boarded the ships after they refused to turn back. As is clear from the video of the events that followed, the navy commandos -- who were armed only with paintball guns and side-arms -- were attacked as they boarded the Mavi Marmara by a group of passengers wielding iron bars, knives, and possibly guns. Several commandos were wounded in the ensuing battle, and nine members of the Turkish group IHH -- which claims to be a humanitarian organization but has long supported radical Islamic groups, including Hamas -- were killed. The boarding of all other ships was peaceful. It appears that the confrontation had been prepared for, and instigated by, the members of the IHH.
The UN then established a commission headed by former New Zealand Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer, and that included representatives of both Israel and Turkey, to investigate what happened. The Palmer Commission's report was scheduled to be issued during the last week in July, but has been delayed until late August as the two countries seek to reach a compromise agreement.
The problem with the proposed deal between Israel and Turkey is that an Israeli apology could very well exacerbate the rift between the two countries, at the same time causing a worldwide public relations nightmare for Israel.
While the apology would refer specifically to "operational errors," the world will not recognize such diplomatic nuances. Instead, Israel will be seen as accepting full responsibility for the deaths of the IHH "activists." The media and UN will be flooded with self-righteous statements of "I told you so," along with renewed allegations of a "brutal response" by Israeli commandos to "peaceful resistance."
An apology will also have far reaching negative ramifications for the Jewish state. It will appear to contradict Israel's repeated assertion that its actions were a necessary response to unprovoked attacks by mercenaries bent on "martyrdom." Israel will find it much more difficult to explain any military action as necessary and justifiable self-defense. From then on, the world will see such claims as self-serving and ultimately unreliable.
Just as problematic, the Israeli government would be abandoning thousands of supporters who relied on Israel's veracity and defended its actions in the face of withering external criticism. These supporters will be left swinging in the air -- much like the Navy commandos who fast-roped from helicopters into the waiting clubs of the armed IHH mercenaries.
For years, Israel has criticized the PA and Hamas for providing financial benefits to terrorists' families. Such payments honor murderers and serve as incentives for others to follow in their footsteps. Just this past week, for example, it was revealed that the PA pays more than $5 million per month, funded by the United States and Europe, in "salaries" to all Palestinians and Israeli-Arabs currently imprisoned in Israel for crimes of terror; How will Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu distinguish the Palestinian payments to terrorists from the "compensation" he is considering paying to the families of those who died on the ship? These payments could be seen as whitewash the IHH actions and benefit the families of would-be murderers.
Finally, an Israeli apology, no matter how limited, will call into question Israel's fundamental claim that the Gaza blockade is necessary. Many more flotillas will then be planned, and "open season" on IDF personnel who try to stop them.
What would Israel receive in return for an apology? Turkey's acceptance of the blockade's legality would be at best a hollow victory. Most of the world will not even be aware of this concession. No responsible legal authority questions Israel's right to impose a blockade on its hostile neighbor. The Palmer Commission's draft report indicates that neither an apology nor compensation is required from Israel for its legal actions.
Although Turkey may keep its promise not to pursue state legal action against Israeli commandos, there is no guarantee that it will prevent private Turkish citizens or organizations from filing their own law suits.
The most recent pronouncements by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggest how little he is really interested in returning to the previous warm relations between the countries. He has demanded nothing short of a full lifting of the blockade, and, threatened that Turkey will become a full-fledged opponent unless Israel complies with its demand for an apology, and has even demanded an apology from the Armenians for having been slaughtered by the Turks early in the last century. Rather than trying to resolve the countries' differences, Erdogan seems bent on exacerbating them.
Offering a limited apology for deadly events that were precipitated by Turkish IHH passengers will provide, at best, only short-term benefits for the Israel/Turkey relationship if at all. At the same time, it could do grievous long-term harm to Israel, its supporters, and the Israel Defense Force.
